Chuck Norris Death, Who is Chuck Norris? is he dead or still alive? What happened?
For a while in the mid-to-late 2000s, Chuck Norris was literally the most inescapable person on the entire internet. He was the subject of a ubiquitous joke claiming that Chuck Norris was the coolest, best guy. Quotes like “Once a cobra bit Chuck Norris’ leg; after 5 days of excruciating pain, the cobra died” is still popular among those who still use the internet like it was in 2009, and joke about liking epic bacon to this day.
To be sure, there is a segment of young people today who don’t actually know that Chuck Norris is an actor because of this basic meme. Or, even if they did, few people knew he was the actor who went on to become a martial arts champion. There’s a reason Chuck Norris is the cool internet personification; it’s an objectively cool career path. As a member of the Air Force, he honed his martial arts at a base in South Korea and went on to star in some of the world’s best and dumbest action movies, even earning a spot in the proverbial Action Movie All-Star Game. It’s “The Expendables” series.
Of course, the origins of Norris’ acting career is a cool story in itself, involving getting advice from another cool actor at Mount Rushmore, Steve McQueen. He didn’t become a man, a myth, a legend overnight.
One important thing to remember is how good martial artist Chuck Norris is. He’s not quite as accomplished in real life as his memes suggest, but Norris is one of the best in the world at what he’s done. Not only is he a world champion in karate, a title he held and defended for six years, but he is also an expert in many different styles of martial arts, including Tang Xiu Do, Taekwondo, Judo and Jiu Jitsu. He even developed his own fighting style, Chun Kuk Do, or what is sometimes called the “Chuck Norris System”. Needless to say, Norris is highly respected both as a fighter and as a coach.
In fact, he was so revered that when real-life movie star Steve McQueen wanted to train in martial arts, he chose Norris as his teacher. Norris, who was already a fan of McQueen’s work, was helpful and the two became friends through education. A few years ago, Norris retired from the ring and started running his martial arts school a little complacently, struggling a little financially. Despite Norris’ complete inexperience, McQueen suggested Norris start acting. Norris was initially skeptical.
“I had no experience, I never did high school drama. That’s where I tried to get into show business. If I looked at it negatively, I would… give up,” Norris said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
