Deacon Timothy Ritchey Death and Obituary, Cause of Death

Deacon Timothy Ritchey has passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11, 2022, leaving family, closer relatives and other loved ones in total devastations and sadness. Circumstances surrounding his sudden demise have not been made known to the public at the time of filing this report.

Deacon Ritchey was ordained in 1989 for the Archdiocese of Denver, where he served until moving to the Diocese of Charlotte in 2004.

Over the years, he served the Church and Holy Cross Parish in numerous ways – baptismal preparation, RCIA, marriage preparation, nursing home and hospital visits, funeral services – as well as serving in prison ministry and as a police chaplain, and in ministry to the deaf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at Holy Cross Church in Kernersville. The family will receive visitors starting at 10 a.m. Interment will follow Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery’s columbarium.

Friends, colleagues, officials and veterans are sending their condolences and tributes to the family in respect of his death. He will greatly be missed by everyone.
