Sometimes all you have to do is ask to make your late-night TV debut. Well, first you have to be a comedian, take politically motivated attacks on a comedy club stage, deal with it with aplomb, get videos of events going viral on Twitter and get the attention of late-night hosts, and then questions. But if you can replicate this formula, you should be good to go. (Note to comedians: please don’t try to repeat this formula.)
That’s what happened to New York comedian Ariel Elias, who made her first late-night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Oct. 24, after a video of her drinking a beer went viral earlier this month. to Trump supporters. He questioned while performing on stage at Uncle Pooh’s Comedy Club in New Jersey. On October 9, Kimmel took to Twitter to praise Elias’ handling of the situation (“five stars for the perfect performance”), prompting Elias to reply on Twitter, “I can make my late night debut for you.” Performance? He replied, “Of course.”
In the episode, Elias doesn’t discuss throwing beer at him because of MAGA, but covers a range of topics, such as being Jewish growing up in Kentucky, toxic thoughts caused by body deformities (“I had food poisoning and I The first time I thought, when I had food poisoning, I couldn’t wait to call myself”) and saying you want kids is not welcome in 2022. she asked. “They said, ‘No. I can’t bring a child into this suffering world.’ But I think children deserve to suffer. I am a very Jewish. Elias was selected as one of the new faces for laughter in 2021, and he jumped at the chance.
It follows news that Kimmel will reopen his Las Vegas comedy club, Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club, to the public on Nov. 3, the first time it has opened to the public since the pandemic. From the viral comedy clip to his show’s late-night debut, the farm-to-table process could be even shorter.
Jimmy Kimmel has made an offer for Eric Trump, son of former President Donald Trump, but he may never accept it.
Over the weekend, Eric Trump told the crowd that his father had been subpoenaed by a House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.
“Who wants to drink beer, make popcorn, and watch Donald Trump talk about voter fraud in the United States of America?” he asked.
Kimmel raised her hand.
“Me too! I’d love to see that,” the Jimmy Kimmel Live host said of the idea of listening to Trump sworn in to answer questions, “but dad’s lawyers definitely don’t want them. They want him to be quiet so he doesn’t. Go to jail, and you don’t have to work in a car wash all your life.”
