John Pappas and Steph Pappas Death and Obituaries, Suspected drunken driver causes fatal crash
A 53-year-old man died Sunday night in Jackson Township after his vehicle was hit by a suspected intoxicated driver, police said. The accident happened around 11 p.m., according to the Jackson Township Police Department.
On the 7700 block of Strausser St. NW. Police said a 27-year-old man was traveling west on Strausser St. NW when he was traveling left from the center and struck a car driven by John Pappas, 53, of Uniontown.
John was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Kristine Pappas, 52, also from Uniontown, was taken to Mercy Medical Center.
Police said the 27-year-old Beiguang man refused to seek medical attention on the spot, but sought medical attention afterwards.
Police say drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the accident; however, no charges have been laid so far.
Jacob Muiter, 27, of Jackson Township, crossed the centerline in his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado with John Pappas, 53, in a 2017 Toyota, according to a police press release. Toyota collided and 52-year-old co-driver Kristine Pappas became Lake Township.
John Pappas was pronounced dead at the scene. Kristine Pappas was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in an unknown condition.
Mutter refused medical treatment at the scene but sought it later, police said.
According to a police press release, it is said to have been caused by drugs and/or alcohol.
Police Chief Mark Brinker said no charges had been laid as of Monday morning as the investigation was ongoing.
