Judith Morillo-Rosario Death and Obituary, Victim Killed in Garden State Parkway Identified

A Passaic County woman was hit and killed Sunday night on the Garden State Parkway after she got out of a vehicle that had pulled over, New Jersey State Police said Monday.

Judith Morillo-Rosario, 53, of Haskell, got out of a Jeep Wrangler driven by Barry Braunstein, 66, and started to walk across the southbound lanes, State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said.

Morillo-Rosario was hit by a driver who did not stop; she died of her injuries at the scene, Curry said.

Braunstein, also of Haskell, an unincorporated part of Wanaque, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Curry said.

The crash remains under investigation, Curry said. The center and right lanes of the southbound Parkway were closed for about five hours in the area, he said.
