The man struck while trying to cross the interstate has been identified as Kelly June Grogan, 51, of Beaumont. Police responded to the scene in the 1200 block of Interstate 10 East near MLK Parkway since just after 4 a.m. according to a news release from police.
The man was struck while trying to cross the interstate according to Jefferson County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Ben Collins. He’s been identified as Kelly June Grogan Jr, 51, of Beaumont.
An autopsy has been ordered by Judge Collins. The Beaumont Police Traffic Unit is investigating this crash. The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation according to police.
At 6:40 a.m. traffic was backed up nearly four miles into Rose City. This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
