The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting on Rebelwood Drive at the Pineridge Gardens Apartments. One suspect is in custody.
Victim 42-year-old Michael James Stevens is dead. Deputies believe 24-year-old Denario Nolan drove up and shot Stevens at least once around 12:30 PM Friday.
Stevens was taken to Merit Health where he died from his injuries. Nolan fled the scene in a white SUV but was found roughly thirty minutes later on Glenn Street. Deputies recovered a stolen handgun they believe was used in the incident.
The relationship of the two is not known and there are no known motives at this time. Nolan faces murder and possession of a stolen firearm charges.
