Police reported that Cahj’miere Robinson is the name of the 17-year-old who was killed in a double shooting on Sunday morning. A 16-year-old boy was the other victim in the shooting outside the Thomas Ryan Recreation Center on Webster Avenue. He is expected to survive and remains in stable condition at the U of R Medical Center.
The Rochester Police Department responded at around 2 a.m. after getting calls for gunfire. Officers first found the 16-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the face. Then, officers found Robinson, who was shot multiple times in the upper body. He died at the scene.
Investigators determined that the victims were hanging out in the park at the rec center with a group of friends, when at least one person approached them and began shooting.
There are no suspects in custody and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
