An organization is being accused of plotting to overthrow the government of Germany and install a self-proclaimed prince as the new head of state in the country. An elderly man who is said to be the leader of the so-called Reichsbund and goes by the name “Prince Heinrich XIII” is one of the defendants in this case. He is also one of the defendants.

So who was Prince Heinrich XIII?

It is believed that the moniker refers to Prince Heinrich XIII, who held the title of Prince Reuss of Greiz from the year 1800 until his death in 1817 at the age of 69. The rebuilding of Greiz after the devastating fire that struck the city in 1802 is the accomplishment for which the Prince is best known.

As a result of the collapse of the Holy Roman Empire, Henry XIII became a member of both the Rhine Confederation and the German Confederation. At the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and 1815, he was involved in a territorial dispute with the Kingdom of Saxony. As a result of this dispute, he was awarded the domains of Altgommla and Kühdorf.
