A woman was struck and killed while crossing I-94 near the city of Pewaukee Monday September 19, 2022 night.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, troopers were called to reports of a crash on I-94 at Highway 164 at 7:56 p.m.
A news release stated that preliminary information suggests the victim drove her vehicle into an embankment along I-94. They said current information suggests the pedestrian was struck while trying to cross the interstate to go for help.
The Waukesha County Medical Examiner identified the victim as a 29-year-old woman from Waukesha. Her name is not being released at this time.
The Wisconsin State Patrol identified the driver who struck the woman as a 25-year-old female from Milwaukee. Investigators said the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative.
