Yet another fatal shooting in Oakland left a man dead Friday night, a spokesperson for the Oakland Police Department said.
The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. on the 10600 block of E Street in the Stonehurst neighborhood southeast of the Coliseum, police said. The victim, an adult male, was found at the scene suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man, who was an Oakland resident but has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, police said.
An investigation into the shooting is underway and being led by homicide investigators. No suspects have been named or located. The crime marks the seventh fatal shooting of the week in Oakland and the second within the last 24 hours.
Another shooting Friday on the 4400 block of International Boulevard left one dead and three injured after an attempted robbery of a Brink’s truck.
