William Seale Death and Obituary, Victim of Fatal Skydiving Accident at Nebraska Airport Identified

The victim of a fatal skydiving accident that occured on September 15, 2022 at a Nebraska airport has been identified by law enforcement.

The Crete Police Department said the accident occurred at the Crete Municipal Airport. Crete, which is in Saline County, about 25 miles southwest of Lincoln.

William Seale, from Florida, was taken to Crete Area Medical Center, where the 34-year-old was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Officials said 56-year-old Romulo Suarez, an experienced parachutist, was transported to Bryan West hospital with life-threatening injuries after the accident.

Investigators said witnesses reported seeing a pair of skydivers attempting a “tandem” jump, followed by the successful deployment and functioning of the parachute.

Police said that the pair didn’t adequately slow their descent as they approached the ground for reasons unknown.
